The first DRT scheme in Poland
"Telebus", the first Polish DRT scheme started in Krakow, Malopolskie Region, on 14th July 2007. Operated by MPK S.A., the Public Transport Company of Krakow, the scheme has been designed and implemented in the context of the European project CARAVEL, under the CIVITAS II program.
The new DRT scheme the main outcome of a know-how and technology transfer from Genoa, the CARAVEL leader city, to Krakow. AMI, the Genoa Mobility Agency operating DRT schemes in the urban area and within the Liguria region, have supplied the organisational, operational and engieering support in designing the new scheme in Krakow. Softeco Sismat S.p.A., a leading supplier of ICT solutions for DRT implementation and operation, have supplied their PersonalBus system to enable planning and operation of the Telebus scheme.
Telebus is operated in the Rybitwy area in the suburbs of Krakow, serving some thirty stops in the area from 8 am to 23 pm, monday to saturday.
