AGATA Multi-service Agency
Started in early 2005, the AGATA project has been launched under the Interreg IIIB - MEDOCC initiative and involves the Regione Toscana, the city of Florence and Livorno, several Local Authorities in the regions Campania, Basilicata and Sardegna (Italy), Algarve (Portugal), Andalucia and Catalunia (Spain), Morocco.
AGATA's overall objective is to define, create and demonstrate a multi-service agency which integrates and coordinates different flexible services relating to mobility and transport of people and goods in urban and rural areas. Flexible services taken into account include:
- On demand transport in areas of low demand and for elderly or disabled people
- School bus services
- On demand services for groups of workers or tourists
- Goods delivery services for different destinations (shops, hotels, restaurants)
- Transport of staff and medical supplies for home aid
